More than three pounds of heroin seized by police in Kansas City
Two Kansas City men are facing federal charges after the seizure of more than three pounds of heroin and more than four pounds of methamphetamine.
Rafael L. Meza, 42, is charged in U.S. District Court with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine.
Julian Felix-Aguirre, 43, is charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin.
Felix-Aguirre was arrested by Kansas City police on Sept. 14 for driving without a license. In a subsequent search of his vehicle, police found about a pound of black tar heroin, according to court documents.
As a result of that seizure, search warrants were served on two Kansas City houses associated with Meza.
During those searches, police and federal agents found about one kilogram of heroin and two kilograms of methamphetamine, according to the documents.
They also found $50,000 in cash, three handguns, two assault-style rifles and a shotgun, according to the documents.
