Kansas City, Kan. police have released the name of the victim in Tuesday’s murder-suicide.

Police say a teen came home Tuesday afternoon and found her mother, Jennifer Combs, 45, and stepfather dead in the 3000 block of South 46th Terrace.

The discovery was made around 2:40 p.m.

Police later confirmed that Combs and another person — tentatively identified as her husband — died from gunshot wounds.

Police intercepted the teen’s younger brother before he returned home from school to spare him from witnessing the crime scene, Kansas City, Kan. police spokesman Tom Tomasic said.
