Trash truck fire closes ramp to U.S. 69 in Overland Park

Firefighters worked Friday to extinguish burning garbage that caught fire inside a trash truck. The ramp from 135th Street to U.S. 69 in Overland Park is expected to be closed for a while so the debris could be removed.

A trash truck fire has forced the closing of a ramp to southbound U.S. 69 in Overland Park.

The driver of the Deffenbaugh truck dumped the garbage on the ramp from 135th Street.

Fire crews responded to extinguish the fire. The ramp is expected to be closed for some time while the debris is removed.
