The Olathe school board on Tuesday named Patricia All as the district’s interim superintendent effective July 1.

All will replace current superintendent Marlin Berry who is leaving the district at the end of the school year to take the superintendent’s job for Rogers Public Schools in northwest Arkansas.

All is returning to the Olathe School District. She had retired in 2010 after serving five years as superintendent of schools. Her career with the district started in 1979.

In 31 years with the district, All had served as a principal, director of secondary education, executive director of education and technology, assistant superintendent for general administration, and deputy superintendent.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve one more year as the board seeks the new leader for Olathe’s future,” All said in a statement released by the district on Tuesday.

“The Olathe School District is a very special place,” she said. “I’m looking forward to working with the board of education, our teachers and support staff in all schools and facilities, our principals, and senior leadership team as we prepare to welcome students in August.”

Before coming to Olathe, All taught junior high English and social studies in the Shawnee Mission School District.

Currently she is a member of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Olathe Medical Center Board of Trustees and Kids TLC Board of Directors. All was named Citizen of the Year by the Chamber in 2009 and in 2010 she received the Distinguished Community Service Award from Mid-America Nazarene University.
