Utility pole fire cuts power in Waldo district

Some utility customers in the Waldo district of Kansas City lost electrical service Monday night due to a utility pole fire.

Customers of Kansas City Power & Light lost service about 10 p.m. within an area area stretching from Troost Avenue to State Line Road and from about 77th Street to 85th Street, said Katie McDonald, KCP&L spokeswoman.

It was unclear what caused the fire, McDonald said, but crews were working to restore service.
