Olathe man died in head-on crash at Lake of the Ozarks
An 87-year-old Olathe man died Monday afternoon from injuries suffered in a head-on crash at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Alexander Zych was headed south on Missouri 5 in Gravois Mills, Mo., when his sport utility vehicle crossed the center line and struck another SUV head-on about 1:10 p.m., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Both Zych and the driver of the second SUV, a 58-year-old woman from Versailles, Mo., who was seriously injured, were flown to a hospital. Zych was pronounced dead about 3 p.m.
A passenger in the second SUV, a 58-year-old man from Versailles, was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
