The body of a man was discovered Saturday night after a fire that destroyed a row of commercial property on 18th Street between Monroe and Cleveland avenues in Kansas City.

Fire officials said Sunday they did not yet know the cause of death or the origin of the fire. Police are investigating.

The block included a restaurant called Taqueria Silva’s and is near the U.S. Postal Service’s Kansas City distribution plant. The taqueria was closed, according to a posting on Facebook.

The call came in at 6:18 p.m. The body was found about 9:46 p.m.
