Lenexa man killed when pickup truck strikes tree in Shawnee

A 23-year-old man died Saturday morning in Shawnee when he apparently lost control of his pickup truck and struck a tree.

Police were called to the 13600 block of Blackfish Parkway at about 7:15 a.m. The driver, Colin Michael Pegg of Lenexa, was heading west on Blackfish when he apparently lost control of the 2007 GMC Sierra and struck a tree on the north side of the road.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
