Immigration rights supporters begin monthly marches

Supporters of immigrant rights marched for more than a mile in Kansas City, Kan., this weekend in the first of 11 planned monthly marches throughout the area over the next year.

The Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation organized the walk, President Catalina Velarde said, to speak out against fear and to help share the individual stories of immigrants in Kansas City.
