Hearing postponed on Fellowship of the Martyrs’ plan to develop land in Clay County

A hearing scheduled for Tuesday night at the Clay County Planning & Zoning Commission to address a request by the fringe religious group Fellowship of the Martyrs was postponed until Jan. 5.

The Liberty-based group wants to develop rural land near Excelsior Springs for a “tiny house” village and to establish a church in a limestone mine.

Opponents also voiced worry about Perry’s followers.
