Police launch investigation of man who fell to his death at Plaza bridge
Kansas City police are investigating the death of a man who fell Wednesday from a bridge embankment on the western edge of the Country Club Plaza.
Police were alerted about 11:15 a.m. It appears the man accidentally fell from an embankment wall at Roanoke Road and Ward Parkway. Officers arrived and found the man at the bottom of the bridge. He was pronounced dead at the scene, said police spokesman Capt. Tye Grant.
Police have not determined when the fall occurred, but apparently the victim had been at the bottom of the bridge for some time. A pedestrian walking by noticed him and alerted police, Grant said.
