Fifth suspect charged in Kansas City homicide
Prosecutors accused a fifth suspect Wednesday of participating in the March 10 killing of a Kansas City man.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Casey A. Ellis, 26, of Kansas City, with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and theft in connection with the shooting death of 75-year-old Clite Weibel.
They previously charged four other residents of Kansas City, Kan., in the case.
Weibel was found shot to death at his home in Kansas City’s East Bottoms. Prosecutors said that surveillance cameras at Weibel’s home in the 800 block of North Kansas Avenue captured images of the five suspects, including Ellis.
