Blue Springs replacing school superintendent from within

The Blue Springs school board didn’t take long in finding its next superintendent. It didn’t think it had to look far.

Deputy Superintendent Jim Finley will step up to the top post July 1, taking over after Paul Kinder, who announced two weeks ago that he is retiring in June after 14 years as superintendent.

Finley, a former social studies teacher, has been in the Blue Springs School District since 1994, serving previously as a teacher, coach, high school principal and assistant superintendent.
