Kansas City, Kan., man killed in vehicular accident involving police SUV
A wreck involving a Kansas City, Kan., police vehicle killed a 50-year-old man Thursday night.
Wendell L. Hall of Kansas City, Kan., was not wearing a seat belt when the accident happened about 10:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of North Seventh Street.
According to initial reports, a southbound Honda Civic driven by a 37-year-old woman made a left turn into the path of a northbound police department Ford Explorer, which hit the Civic in the front passenger door.
Hall, a passenger in the Civic, later died at the University of Kansas Hospital, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol, which is investigating the wreck.
The Civic’s driver and the 31-year-old police officer who had been driving the Ford Explorer were taken to the University of Kansas Hospital. Their conditions were not available Friday morning.
