Megan Phelps-Roper of Westboro Baptist Church: An heir to hate

Fred Phelps, 82, has grown increasingly removed from the Westboro Baptist Church’s everyday business. His daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, handles operations. But even she’s begun delegating more to others, with much of the work falling to her 25-year-old daughter, Megan Phelps-Roper. Megan’s importance to the movement stems also from the fact that for the past decade, the church’s future has been walking away at an alarming rate.
