Drivers can expect more of the same traffic delays next week at I-35 and I-435 in Johnson County, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The same highway closures that drivers were obliged to deal with earlier this week will be extended to Monday and Tuesday, KDOT said in a press release Saturday night. The lane and ramp closures were scheduled for bridge construction.

Some lanes and ramps are scheduled to be closed overnight along eastbound I-435 from Lackman Road to Pflumm Road. The closures are scheduled on Monday and Tuesday night, beginning each night at 10 p.m. and ending by 5 a.m. the following morning.

The closures include all lanes of eastbound I-435 from Lackman Road to Pflumm Road. Traffic will also be closed between southbound I-35 and the eastbound I-435 ramp.

Lackman Road will be closed to the eastbound I-435 ramp.

Detours will be marked along the routes, according to KDOT. Drivers in the area can expect major delays.
