Body found near Kansas River identified; KCK police do not suspect foul play

Police have identified a dead body that was found by a fisherman near the Kansas River last Saturday.

The body of Sean Meyers, 40, of Shawnee has been identified by police as the man who was found dead near the Kansas River on March 16.

Around 10:38 a.m., a person fishing near the 12th Street Bridge over the Kansas River called 911 saying they had found a body. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found the body of an adult man near the river.

According to police, their investigation revealed that Meyers had been fishing in the area. No foul play is suspected in relation to his death, police said.
