A truck hauling scrap metal overturned on Interstate 70 near the Benton Curve on Friday afternoon.  The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down because of the huge amount of debris strewn across the roadway.

Crews are dealing with a huge mess after a truck hauling scrap metal overturned on Interstate 70 near the Benton Curve on Friday afternoon.

The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down because of the huge amount of debris strewn across the roadway.

Fire crews had to extricate the driver from the truck’s cab and he was taken to a hospital. The extent of injuries was not known.
