Here are school closures and delays for Thursday as more wintry weather approaches
As another round of freezing rain, sleet and snow approaches Kansas City, some schools announced Thursday closures.
Many major school districts made the decision to cancel classes Thursday, including North Kansas City Schools, Lee’s Summit School District, Shawnee Mission School District, Kansas City, Kan. Public Schools and several more.
At least one major district — Kansas City Public Schools — will be in session Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Kansas City said it expects areas north of the Missouri River to be most affected by icing.
But it tweeted late Thursday that it was “lowered icing amounts” for the storm. Less than one-tenth of an inch is expected in the Kansas City metro area.
