Interstate 70 open again in KCK after truck fire
A semi-trailer on fire forced the temporary closure of Interstate 635 and Interstate 70 early Sunday near Park Drive in Kansas City, Kan.
Kansas Department of Transportation officials alerted motorists of the fire and the closure shortly before 2 a.m.
At 8:30 a.m., crews had cleaned up the scene and the roads were open to traffic again. No injuries were reported.
The truck fire came shortly after a rash of incidents involving burning semi-trailers on Kansas City area interstates this month.
In addition to Sunday’s fire, three wrecks involved four flaming tractor-trailers, and two more trucks have caught fire apparently unrelated to any collision, since July 11.
