Pedestrian struck and killed early Saturday identified as 43-year-old KC woman
Authorities identified a pedestrian struck in a hit and run collision early Saturday as 43-year-old Monica R. Hughes of Kansas City.
Hughes died about 2:05 a.m. after she was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 71 south of 51st Street, Kansas City Police Department officials said.
The vehicle fled from the scene and headed southbound on U.S. 71.
Kansas City police believe the suspect vehicle sustained substantial damage to the front right side and its windshield.
