Kansas City police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body inside a 25-foot well near the south bank of the Missouri River.

Workers with the Kansas City Water Services Department made the discovery about 1 p.m. Thursday in the area of First Street and Lydia Avenue near the east end of Richard Berkley Riverfront Park.

Investigators have not determined how the woman died but are calling it a suspicious death investigation.
