Passenger killed as SUV wrecks in south Kansas City
A 23-year-old Butler, Mo., woman was killed early Sunday morning after the SUV in which she was riding hit a utility pole and then a tree in south Kansas City.
Kaitlyn Turner was a passenger in a red Chevy Blazer headed east on Minor Road near McGee Street at about 12:20 a.m. when the vehicle went off the roadway to the right. The SUV ripped a light pole from the ground, overturned and struck a large tree.
The driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.
