Palin inadverently raises $25,000 for pro-Hillary Clinton group
WASHINGTON – Sarah Palin is picking up an unexpected title: top fundraiser for a group promoting a potential Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign for president.
During a speech in Iowa last weekend, the former Alaska governor held up a Ready for Hillary car magnet as she talked about ways for Republicans in Iowa to stop a Clinton campaign. So the super PAC backing Clinton used the moment as a fundraising tool – and raised more than $25,000.
Ready for Hillary says that by raising the amount, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee qualifies as a co-chair of their national finance council.
Palin appeared alongside several potential GOP presidential candidates. On the question of whether anyone can stop Clinton, she borrowed a phrase from the Obama campaign and said, “Yes we can.”
