New state standards, prompted by Common Core, complicate school accreditation, teacher evaluations

Scores from this year’s Kansas assessments and, most likely, next year’s Missouri assessments won’t count against teachers or schools. The new standards could delay some teachers’ performance evaluations and possibly weigh on the timing for state of Missouri’s decisions on accrediting the Kansas City and St. Louis school districts.
