Kansas City engineering firm lands Los Angeles International Airport contract
Kansas City-based Burns & McDonnell has received a design services contract for a new 700,000-square-foot concourse at Los Angeles International Airport.
Construction is expected to begin on the midfield satellite concourse in 2017, with the opening planned for 2020. Burns & McDonnell will design the concourse’s underground fueling system, ramp services and passenger boarding bridges.
The new concourse will provide substitute gates while the existing terminals undergo future renovation as well as expanding travel capacity.
Burns & McDonnell said the value of its contract was more than $3 million.
