Raising Cane’s Blue Springs update; new patios for Jax Fish House, Bier Station

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers plans to open in Blue Springs on Tuesday.

The Louisiana-based chain is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. in Adams Dairy Landing at 1000 N.E. Coronado Drive.

The first 20 dine-in customers (ages 13 and older) will receive one Box Combo a week for a year. The first 100 dine-in customers (ages 13 and older) will receive a free Raising Cane’s T-shirt and a voucher for a free Box Combo for their next visit.

Hours will be 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

A Westport location, at 4040 Mill St., is scheduled to open June 7. A Lawrence location opened May 3.

Todd Graves founded the chain in 1996 and named it after his beloved yellow Labrador retriever. The company specializes in chicken fingers made from premium, never-frozen chicken, as well as its secret-recipe Cane’s sauce, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, freshly brewed sweet tea and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

New outdoor dining

▪ Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, in the West Plaza at 4814 Roanoke Parkway, has added a 350-square-foot front patio seating 24 people. It also has new spring happy hour specials including shrimp pancakes and house salmon charcuterie, as well as spring cocktails.

▪ Bier Station has put a new, expanded patio area with a retractable, waterproof canopy and heat lamps for colder weather. It seats 38 people.

Owner John Couture said “more food options and a better patio” were No. 1 and No. 2 on his Facebook customer survey in May 2015 — more than 1,000 customers responded — and he also took input from area neighborhood associations.

Bier Station opened at 120 E. Gregory Blvd. in December 2012.
