Pie Five Pizza franchisee plans up to 10 more locations

The area franchisee for Pie Five Pizza Co. plans up to 10 more locations.

Dave Goebel, former president and chief executive officer of Applebee’s, along with wife, Jan, sons Kerry and Kevin and daughter Lyssa, signed a Pie Five franchise agreement in May 2013 for 10 locations under KC Pie LLC.

They’ve since opened locations in Leawood, Lenexa, Mission, Olathe, Overland Park, Topeka and Westport. They will open a Manhattan, Kan., restaurant on Feb. 19 and one in Lawrence in late April as part of their original agreement for 10 locations.

Now they plan to “strategically fill in trade areas in the Kansas City metro area,” as well as in current markets and St. Joseph.

The Dallas-based Pie Five Pizza Co. is known for its handcrafted pizza crusts, topped with fresh ingredients and baked in just 145 seconds in a custom-designed oven. Pie Five also offers fresh salads served in a baked pizza dough bowl, brownies and cookie pies.
