New York-based bubble tea chain coming to Overland Park

A franchisee for New York bubble tea chain Kung Fu Tea is bringing the concept to Overland Park.

It plans a Jan. 30 grand opening at 7504 W. 119th St. in Rosana Square Shopping Center.

The shop will serve a variety of teas — green, honey, melon, pomelo and more. It also will have milk teas, bubble tea, slushies, espressos, punch (including mango tea, honey lemonade and passion fruit green tea), and milk cap tea (with a thick milky layer on top).

Seasonal drinks will include pumpkin oolong milk tea, brown sugar ginger tea, and snow cream (described as a creamy shaved ice).

“I used to go culinary school in New York and this was one of my go-to places,” said Daewun Sin, area franchisee with his wife, Trang Bui. “Their bubble tea is very consistent and they offer a lot of different flavors.”
