David Sederholm had been a customer of Boozefish Wine Bar and some the previous operations that were housed at 1511 Westport Road.

Then a friend who owns rental property in the West Plaza area found out Boozefish was closing last year. He tried to talk Sederholm into going into partnership to take over the space. But the friend’s wife nixed the partnership idea.

Sederholm continued negotiations and will now open a gastropub, The Standard Pour, in the space in early June.

He had a stint as a bartender in college but is now a vice president and portfolio manager at Commerce Trust Co. The Standard Pour name is a play on his financial career and the financial services institution Standard & Poor’s.

Craig Mackin, currently manager at 75th Street Brewery, will be manager at The Standard Pour.

They plan to open the gastropub in time for PorchFestKC, a community music celebration taking place on the front porches of homes of the West Plaza neighborhood on June 13.
