New bar at ‘The K’ will offer craft beers, build-your-own-pizza

Opening day at Kauffman Stadium on Monday also marks the launch of Craft & Draft, a tap room behind the left field fence that will offer more than 75 craft beers from Boulevard Brewing Co. and other brewers.

It replaces the .390 Club on the Loge Level in the left field corner of the stadium. As part of the makeover, the .390 Club’s windows were removed for a new open air design highlighted in various woods and metals.

Craft & Draft represents an expanded partnership of the Kansas City Royals, Boulevard and their wholesaler, Central States Beverage.

“We’re excited to be joining with the Royals and Central States in bringing more craft beers to Kauffman,” Jeremy Ragonese, director of marketing for Boulevard, said in a statement.

In addition to Boulevard’s Unfiltered Wheat Beer, Single-Wide I.P.A. and Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale, the venue will offer an assortment of beers from such breweries as Brewery Ommegang, Lagunitas Brewing Co., Founders Brewing Co., Mother’s Brewing Co., Santa Fe Brewing Co. and Breckenridge Brewery.

The menu will take a “handcrafted approach” to pub fair and emphasize fresh and local ingredients. Items will include bar snacks, charcuterie, pork belly steam buns and a Kobe beef burger.

It also will have a quick-fire pizzeria where customers will be able to customize their pizzas from a large selection of toppings.
