Kansas, Kansas City restaurant health inspections for Nov. 7

Here are area restaurants with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available):

▪ China Rose, 9536 Antioch Road, Overland Park, had 11 priority violations during an Oct. 18 routine inspection. It had 4 priority violations during a Nov. 2 follow-up inspection.

▪ Sushi Uni, 12841 W. 87th St. Parkway, Lenexa, had 9 priority violations during an Oct. 18 routine inspection.

▪ Suzie Q’s Homestyle Cafe, 6720 Kaw Drive, Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during an Oct. 12 routine inspection. It had 5 priority violations during an Oct. 28 follow-up inspection.

▪ Geo’s Pizzeria, 9220 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, had 8 priority violations during an Oct. 13 routine inspection.

▪ Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, 6601 W. 135th St., Overland Park, had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 24 routine inspection.

▪ 7-Eleven, 10950 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 20 routine inspection.

▪ Steak ’n Shake, 24 N. 130th St., Bonner Springs, had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 19 follow-up inspection.

▪ Tanner’s Bar & Grill, 10146 W. 119th St., Overland Park, had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 20 follow-up inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for 7 or more critical health code violations:

▪ The Drunken Fish, Power & Light District, 14 E. 14th St., had 10 critical violations during an Oct. 21 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during an Oct. 26 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during a Nov. 2 follow-up inspection.

▪ Sushi Haru Restaurant, 13133 State Line Road, had 9 critical violations during an Oct. 17 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Oct. 21 follow-up inspection.

▪ Garden Cafe at the Plaza, Plaza Hotel, 11828 N.W. Plaza Circle, had 8 critical violations during an Oct. 13 routine inspection. It had 4 critical violations during an Oct. 19 follow-up inspection, 4 critical violations during an Oct. 24 follow-up inspection, and 1 critical violation during an Oct. 27 follow-up inspection.

▪ Kin Lin Chinese Food, 314 E. 51st St., had 8 critical violations during an Oct. 14 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Oct. 21 follow-up inspection.

▪ Ward Parkway Lanes, snack bar, 1523 W. 89th St., had 7 critical violations during an Oct. 17 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during an Oct. 26 follow-up inspection.
