DeKalb County crash leaves two Kansas City residents injured
CAMERON, Mo. (News-Press NOW) - A car crash in Cameron, Missouri left two Kansas City residents injured while they were traveling westbound on Highway US-36 Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred one mile west of Cameron, at 4:20 p.m., when the unnamed pair's Ford Taurus was struck on the rear driver side while attempting to turn south in front of the oncoming Peterbilt 389 tractor-trailer.
After a spin, the smaller vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the roadway on its wheels facing north, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The 61-year-old male driver suffered moderate injuries, and the female passenger's injuries were minor. Both were transported to Mosaic Life Care of St. Joseph.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper S.W. Pliley was on scene to investigate the crash. He was later assisted by other members of Troop H and the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office.
