Oklahoma Joe’s fills $1,400 order for Obama, Air Force One
President Barack Obama apparently can’t get enough Kansas City barbecue.
“Just now sent a rather large order to go with three serious looking guys in AIR FORCE ONE flight jackets,” tweeted Oklahoma Joe’s about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
“The tweet has all the information in it,” said Doug Worgul, director of marketing for the restaurant at 3002 W. 47th Ave. in Kansas City, Kan.
When asked if the order was for whom they thought it was, the men just nodded, Worgul said.
“It was a pretty straightforward transaction,” he said. “They were not really forthcoming.”
The total was about $1,400. That bought about 30 slabs of ribs, 20 pounds of pork, lots of sausage and sides, he said.
“But not coleslaw,” Worgul said.
The president dined the night before at Arthur Bryant’s, asked for coleslaw and was told the place was flat out.
