Jimmy Kimmel to Joe’s Kansas City: thanks for the Z-man
Ok, we’ve pieced together the story of how Jimmy Kimmel got sent a Z-man sandwich.
Earlier this month, Jimmy Kimmel welcomed his Kansas City audience because his ABC talk show moved to the 10:35 p.m. time slot. “Someone please send me a Z-man sandwich” to celebrate, he said on the show.
The Z-man, of course, is a famous sandwich from Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que (formerly Oklahoma Joe’s). It features beef brisket, smoked provolone and two fried onion rings on a kaiser roll.
Joe’s, which recently landed on Yelp’s top 100 places to eat (No. 25), responded with this tweet.
@jimmykimmel We'd love to send you a Z-Man. But we'd need to come out and fry the onion rings and toast the kaiser roll ourselves. #fresh

“Thank you @joeskc for sending this delicious Z Man sandwich to my mouth,” ABC’s late-night talk show host posted to his Instagram on Friday.
It turns out, though, that Jimmy is no stranger to the Z-Man or Kansas City, as his wife’s brother and his family live here.
The audio isn't great, but the message is. https://t.co/5EUvQngxq2
