Mother’s Day specials at Kansas City-area restaurants
We’re compiling a list of area restaurants serving special Mother’s Day teas, brunches, buffets and dinners (call for reservations) on May 7 and May 8.

▪ The American, 200 E. 25th St., Suite 400: Mother’s Day Brunch, 3-course, prix fixe menu
Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $45 per person
▪ BC Bistro, 7749 N.W. Prairie View Road: Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet
Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $17 for adults, $7 for children ages 6-to-12, and children ages 5-and-under eat for free
▪ Bluestem, Westport, 900 Westport Road, a Mother’s Day tea, including spring pea soup, deviled eggs, marinated tuna and cucumber sandwiches, carrot cake, chamomile panna cotta, and chocolate praline tartlets.
Hours: Seating are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday
Cost: $25 per person; $12.50 for children ages 10-and-under
▪ Bristol Seafood Grill, Power and Light District, 51 E. 14th St.: Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $32 for adults, $16 for for children ages 4-to-12, children ages 3-and-under eat for free. In addition, its dinner menu will be offered from 4 to 9 p.m.
▪ Bristol Seafood Grill, Town Center Plaza, 5400 W. 119th St.: Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet
Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $29 for adults, $15 for children ages 4-to-12, and children ages 3-and-under eat for free. In addition, its dinner menu will be offered from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
▪ The Dining Experience, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 Broadway: Mother’s Day Brunch including oven roasted salmon, a prime rib carving station, build-your-own omelet and a dessert buffet.
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $35 for adults, $15 for children ages 12-and younger. Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys also will be available for $10 each.
▪ Gram & Dun, Country Club Plaza, 600 Ward Parkway: Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet
Hours: 9 a.m. To 3:30 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $34 per person, and $14 for children ages 5 to 12. Dinner menu will also be offered from 4:30 to 10 p.m.
▪ The J Bar, Embassy Suites, 10401 S. Ridgeview Road, Olathe: Brunch including hand-carved and brown sugar glazed ham, prime rib, roasted salmon, chicken saltimbocca, stuffed pork tenderloin, omelet station, smoked wild Alaskan salmon, assorted desserts. and $7 mimosas (free mimosa for mom).
Hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $29 for adults, $12 for children ages 4-to-12, children ages 3-and-under eat for free
▪ J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood, 8901 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park: Mother’s Day prix fixe menu
Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $45. In addition, its regular dinner menu will be available.
▪ La Bodega, 703 Southwest Blvd.: Mother’s Day Brunch with a la carte menu items and “Mom’s Mimosa Bar,” which includes $9 make-your-own mimosas and Bloody Marys, and half-price sangria.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $28 per person, $12 for children ages 5 to 12; children ages 4 and younger eat free. Dinner menu also will be offered from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
▪ Rosso, 901 W. 48th Place: Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet including King Crab Legs, Bay Scallop Ceviche, USDA Prime Beef Tenderloin, roasted rack of lamb, antipasto display and desserts.
Hours: 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $39 for adults (includes one mimosa), $15 for children ages 10-and-under
▪ 12 Baltimore at Hotel Phillips, 106 W. 12th St.: Mother’s Day Brunch with buffet-style breakfast offerings and special items including brioche french toast, made-to-order omelets, chicken and waffle bites, and prime rib with au jus and horseradish.
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $25 for adults, $12 for children ages 6 to 12; children ages 5 and younger eat free
▪ Urban Table, Corinth Square, 8232 Mission Road, Prairie Village: Mother’s Day brunch with a two-course menu.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $25 per person, children’s menu items will be $9. The regular dinner menu will be offered from 5 to 9 p.m., and its Sunday carryout from 5 to 8 p.m.
▪ Webster House, Crossroads Arts District, 1644 Wyandotte St.: Three-course Mother’s Day Brunch, including French toast, creamy asparagus soup, salmon carpaccio, roasted Prime Strip au Poivre, and Spanish tortilla.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $35 per person
▪ The Well Bar Grill & Rooftop, 7421 Broadway St.: Mother’s Day Brunch includes special seafood elections
Hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday
Cost: $17.99 for adults, $6.99 for children ages 6 to 12, children ages 5 and younger eat free. In addition to its regular six-station brunch, a large seafood selection will be offered until 3 p.m.
