Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is now open at the remodeled NorthWood Shopping Center, 2816 W. 47th Ave., Kansas City, Kan.

Retail and restaurant reporter Joyce Smith stopped by the eatery on Feb. 7, when it held a “friends and family” event. Here are some of the menu highlights:

▪ Fried okra, $5.95

▪ Half chicken (1 of each piece), $13.45

▪ 8 pieces, $19.95

▪ Greens, $3.95 for medium

▪ Chocolate chess pie, $2.95/slice
