Good news, baseball fans: Kansas City restaurants and bars are celebrating another Royals postseason with specials on everything from burgers to blue cocktails.
Here’s a roundup of #BlueOctober deals that will help you party like it’s 1985. Check back at this list, which we’ll update throughout the postseason.
All Kansas City-area Houlihan’s restaurants offer deals during Royals playoff games. Specials are available in the bar and lounge area only and include $3.95 Happy Apps, $2.50 blue domestic beer drafts and $4.50 20-ounce blue domestic beer drafts.
Zocalo, 620 W. 48th St., serves $4.50 “Hosmeritas”, $3 Blue October shots and $6 nachos all day every day the Royals play during the postseason.
The Grille at Park Place, 5270 W. 116th Place, offers its “cocktail hour menu” all night on the rooftop every night the Royals play during the postseason. The menu features spinach artichoke dip ($7), Parmesan truffle fries ($7) and $5 draft beer, glasses of wine and cocktails.
Crazy Good Eats, 16695A W. 151st St. in Olathe, has happy hour prices during Royals postseason games. On days after the team wins, the barbecue restaurant offers customers who make a $15 food purchase a free Mad Meatball for every run scored by the Royals, with a limit of five meatballs.
North Italia, 4579 W. 119th St. in Leawood, offers happy hour prices all day on days the Royals play during the postseason. North’s happy hour menu features $4 wine by the glass, $3 zucca chips, $8 pizzas and $5 bruschetta.
Stone Canyon Pizza, 8630 N.W. Prairie View Road in Zona Rosa, offers a “Bases Loaded” combo during Royals playoff games. The $20 combo includes one large single-topping pizza and a bucket of five domestic beer bottles or cans. The combo is available starting one hour before Royals games.
Mass Street Soda, 1103 Massachusetts St. in Lawrence, has a new ice cream float called Smuggle Them Runs. The $2 float is made with blue Smuggler’s Run soda and two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Ya Ya’s Euro Bistro, 7021 W. 135th St. in Overland Park, offers all-day happy hour on Royals postseason game days. The happy hour menu features $4-$9 appetizers, $2 domestic beer bottles, $2 wells, $4 glasses of wine and $4 martinis and cocktails.
Best Regards Bakery & Cafe, 6759 W. 119th St. in Overland Park, is giving free slices of made-from-scratch gooey butter cake to customers through Saturday, October 17 in honor of the Royals. Sign up on the bakery’s Facebook page to reserve a piece.
During Royals postseason games, customers at Artego Pizza, 900 W. 39th St., who pay $15 get all-you-can-drink domestic beer and well drinks.
Several local bars are serving a Royals-inspired cocktail made with 360 Vodka. The 360 Walkoff mixes the Weston distillery’s huckleberry-flavored vodka with lemonade and blue curacao. Look for it at the Well, Pizza Bar, Bobby Baker’s Lounge, Cafe Al Dente and Kansas City-area locations of Applebee’s, Minsky’s Pizza and Tanner’s Bar & Grill. A limited supply of 360 Vodka bottles with Royals labels is also available at local liquor stores.
Fireside BBQ, 10400 Mastin St. in Overland Park, has two new blue drinks on the menu: A Blue Kamikaze cocktail ($3.50) and a blue margarita ($7).
Callahan’s on 87th, 12843 W. 87th St. Parkway, serves $2.25 blue cocktails and $2.25 pints of Bud Light, Miller Lite and Coors Light during all postseason games. The bar also serves 50 cent blue Jell-O shots after every Royals run.
Drivers Sports Cafe, 8220 Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park, serves $1 hot dogs, $4 Royals bombs and $16 domestic beer buckets (with six bottles each) during all Royals postseason games. Shots of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky are $2 each after every Royals home run.
Maloney’s Sports Bar & Grill, 7201 W. 79th St. in Overland Park, has two new shots for the postseason. The Sluggerrr mixes Cruzan orange rum with blue curacao, orange juice and Sprite. The Royal Blue blends UV Blue vodka with Sprite.
O’Neill’s Restaurant and Bar, 9417 Mission Road in Leawood, serves $5.85 bleu cheese burgers with fries and $1.85 pours of blue Bud Light during all Royals postseason games.
Do Drop Inn, 22 S.W. Third St. in Lee’s Summit, serves a shot called the Blue Royal. It’s made with vodka, rum, triple sec, blue curacao, sour mix and Sprite. The shot costs $5, or $6 served over ice as a drink.
The Other Place, 7324 W. 80th St. in Overland Park, serves Royal blue margaritas, Royal blue bombs made with berry-flavored vodka and Red Bull, and a Royal Pizza topped with beer brats, sauerkraut and mozzarella cheese.
Papa Keno’s Pizzeria, 7901 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park, offers several discounts during Royals playoff games, including $2.50 domestic bottles, $5 off 26-inch Papa Pies and $6.99 for any slice and a Free State beer.
Arris’ Gourmet Pizza and Greek Food, 12812 W. 87th St. Parkway in Lenexa, sells Miller Lite and Bud Light draws for $1 during all Royals postseason games.
Margarita’s, which has five locations in the Kansas City area, has Royal Blue Margaritas. The 16-ounce tequila drinks cost $7.75.
McGuire’s Tavern, 9148 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park, serves $1 Blue Moon drafts, blue Jell-O shots and blue drinks for five minutes after every Royals home run.
Julian, 6227 Brookside Plaza, offers three-course meals for $35 and half-price wine bottles every time the Royals play during the postseason.
The Peanut on Santa Fe, 7938 Santa Fe Drive, serves $4 UV vodka bombs during every Royals postseason game.
The Upper Crust Pie Bakery, 7943 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park, bakes shortbread cookies that resemble Royals crowns.
Longboards Wraps & Bowls, which has locations in Liberty, Mission and Kansas City, recently introduced a special Straight Outta the K-iller Wrap ($12.19) made with beef brisket, smoked pork, guacamole, pico de gallo, bacon, eggs, rice, crushed Doritos and the customer’s choice of sauce. Choose from chipotle-ranch or 5 Alarm BBQ sauce.
Tavern in the Village, 3901 Prairie Lane in Prairie Village, and Tavern at Mission Farms, 10681 Mission Road in Leawood, offer $5 glasses of wine, $5 house cocktails and select $2.50 bottled beers during all Royals and Chiefs games during October. Both locations also offer $6 select appetizers during the games: Options include nachos, hummus, heirloom tomato-basil bruschetta, cheeseburger sliders and pulled pork tacos.
Customers who spend more than $25 receive a royal blue “mystery envelope” that contains a prize and/or gift certificate up to $100. The envelope must be opened during the customer’s next visit (with a Tavern employee present) before Nov. 19.
Westport Café and Bar, 419 Westport Road, recently added two TVs and a game-day menu that’s available starting Thursday. The special food menu, which is available only during Royals playoff games, features Korean nachos, a spicy pork torta and a footlong bratwurst from Broadway Butcher Shop. The special drink menu features Sluggerrr-ade ($10) made with Kansas City’s own J. Rieger & Co. whiskey, Boulevard Bob’s 47 beer, lemon and grapefruit juice and honey.
Want to swing for the fences? Order the #BloodyMaryTizer ($15), a towering Bloody Mary garnished with seven skewered appetizers, from fried chicken and waffles to mini corn dogs and pizza rolls. The #BloodyMaryTizer serves two to four people.
Westport Flea Market, 817 Westport Road, is offering 1985 prices on Mini Market Burgers for the second year in a row. The 5 1/2 -ounce burgers, which come with fries and are made with beef from McGonigle’s Market, cost $2.99 for as long as the Royals are in the playoffs.
Spin! Pizza has new postseason pie called the Double Play. The pizza costs $13.95 and comes with double pepperoni and double cheese. Spin! Pizza is also serving blue sangria, which costs $5 by the glass or $15 for a carafe. The locally owned pizza chain said in a statement that the Double Play pizza will be available “until the Boys in Blue bring home the World Championship.” Spin! Pizza has locations in Kansas City, Prairie Village, Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa and Lee’s Summit.
Kansas City-area Papa John’s pizza shops have a Royals-themed special: When the team scores five runs and wins a game, customers who order pizza the following day from papajohns.com can use the promo code “ROYALS5” to receive 50 percent off regular-price menu items. The promotion ends at midnight the day after the win.
At Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs, which has more than 30 locations in the KC metro area, 8-inch ham subs cost $2.99 starting Thursday. Goodcents will offer the deal for as long as the Royals are in the playoffs.
Shatto Milk Co.’s new French vanilla-flavored milk is bright blue in honor of the Royals.
The bar at Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters, 419 E. 18th St., serves a Royals-inspired cocktail called Blue October. The blue drink ($10) is made with J. Rieger & Co. vodka, blue curacao and lime juice. It’s served in a Mason jar and garnished with a silk maple leaf.
Jasper’s Restaurant, 1201 W. 103rd St., will have Royals-themed blue cannoli on the menu throughout the postseason. The cannoli cost $2.95 each and are stuffed with sweet ricotta cheese and homemade blueberry pie filling spiked with champagne. They are drizzled with caramel.
