It will be a Royal blue Christmas, thanks to an array of merchandise

Kansas City’s World Series fever won’t cool down any time soon.

Fans have been flocking to area sports retailers to snap up official merchandise, such as the locker room T-shirts and 2015 World Series hats.

But with gift-giving season about to ramp up, they also have some unconventional Royals souvenirs to select from, thanks to area merchants and online stores — toys, puzzles and games, coasters, Waterford Crystal baseballs and Waterford Pilsner glasses, watercolor prints of Kauffman Stadium, Christmas ornaments, temporary tattoos, shot glasses, men’s socks, baby bibs, koozies, magnets and more.

And for those who need more Royals T-shirts, shops like Raygun in the Crossroads Arts District are offering non-Major League Baseball sanctioned options with such sayings as “I survived to see the Royals win another World Series,” “Straight Outta Kauffman” and “The Greatest Baseball Team in the Universe.”

Made in KC, which offers locally made goods — including watercolor prints of Kauffman Stadium — in its locations in Overland Park’s Prairiefire and the Northland’s The Village at Briarcliff, has had record sales since the Royals won. “A lot of people are finding our store for the first time because of the Royals. It is helping us reach a lot larger audience,” said partner Tyler Enders. “Apparel has been selling crazy fast. I think they want to support local.”
