Teenage boy drowns in Hillsdale Lake swimming accident
A 17-year-old boy drowned Friday afternoon in Hillsdale Lake while swimming with his friends, according to the Miami County Sheriff's Department.
Capt. Mike Talcott said the department received a call at 3:07 pm., and rescue crews recovered the body from the lake around 5 p.m. The situation was an accident, Talcott said.
"He got tired, went under and didn't come back up," he said.
Authorities are still trying to contact the boy's family and do not yet know where he was from.
