St. Joe’s mall commercial ‘singers’ moonlight for Ellen Shop

The mall employees who sang their way to YouTube fame in last month’s commercial for St. Joseph’s East Hills Shopping Center reunited for another spot.

The stars of the back-to-school ad this time use their off-key and out-of-rhythm crooning to let people know what’s available at the Ellen Shop, the online store for The Ellen Degeneres Show.

“I loved the commercial so much, I thought they should come here and help us make a commercial for the Ellen Shop because we have wonderful things for sale on the Ellen Shop,” Degeneres told her viewers during her show that aired Monday.

Like in the original, the mall employees sing about what’s available at ellenshop.com.

“Hoodies.”

“Books and pants and books and pants.”

“Get yourself a dog bowl.”

“Underwear.”

Degeneres appears in the add too, hawking Slinkies and sunglasses.

Haircuts, oddly, are available too.

Here’s the original video for those who missed it or want to compare the two.
