'Dick Poop' gaffe at Oscars nominations wins the day
Poor Dick Pope. And poor Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
Isaacs, president of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, accidentally mispronounced Dick Pope’s name as Dick Poop Thursday morning during the nominations announcements.
Pope was nominated in the cinematography category for “Mr. Turner.” Alas, now this gaffe is all anyone can think about when they hear his name. Maybe he’ll be part of a joke by show host Neil Patrick Harris come awards night on Feb. 22.
Of course, Dick Poop immediately trended on Twitter.
