Beyond ‘Casual Vacancy,’ she’s Rowling along
In addition to “The Casual Vacancy” miniseries, author J.K. Rowling is juggling plenty of projects:
‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’
She’s writing the screenplays for this spinoff trilogy, set 70 years before the “Harry Potter” tales. Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) is the front-runner to star, and the first movie is due in November 2016.
‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’
This detective novel and its sequel, “The Silkworm,” written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, will become a BBC drama series. A third book is on the way.
‘Very Good Lives’
Rowling’s celebrated 2008 Harvard commencement speech came out in book form, with illustrations, this month. Proceeds benefit Lumos, her charity to help children in orphanages.
