Kansas City may see rain Friday afternoon before temperatures rise Saturday

Kansas City could see rain Friday afternoon before temperatures warm up for the beginning of the weekend, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Temperatures will stay about freezing overnight into Friday, said Lauria, who provides weather updates to The Star. While Friday may start dry and misty, rain coming from the southwest could fall on the metro by Friday afternoon, he said.

High temperatures on Friday will still be “pretty chilly” at about 42 degrees, Lauria said. The rain will stop by Saturday morning as temperatures rise to a high of 61 that day.

Kansas City will turn “cold and blustery” by Sunday, Lauria said. Temperatures will hit 36 degrees by kickoff as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Oakland Raiders. Fans should expect 25 to 30 mile-an-hour winds, he said.

“Could affect the kicking and passing game,” Lauria said.
