Top-ranked Novak Djokovic beats Jack Sock at Rogers Cup

Top-ranked Novak Djokovic defeated Jack Sock 6-2, 6-1 Thursday in the third round of the Rogers Cup.

Djokovic needed 54 minutes to overtake the 35th-ranked Sock.

Djokovic, who won the Rogers Cup in 2007, 2011 and 2012, has won 50 of his 53 matches this year. Sock is the former Blue Valley North star.

Later in the day, Andy Murray will face Gilles Muller, and defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will play Bernard Tomic.

In the evening session, Rafael Nadal will meet Mikhail Youzhny.
