Blue Valley North grad Jack Sock broke a finger in his first-round men’s singles loss to Sam Groth at Wimbledon.

But Sock says that won’t stop him from trying to defend his doubles title with partner Vasek Pospisil.

Sock and Pospisil, seeded No. 3 in men’s doubles, beat Groth and Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 7-5, 3-2 (retired) on Monday in the first round. In the second round, they will face American Eric Butorac and Canadian Colin Fleming.

Sock, who was seeded No. 31 in men’s singles, lost to Australia’s Groth 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday.
