One of the biggest stars in this history of U.S. tennis will be in Kansas City next year.

Venus Williams, who has won seven Grand Slam titles, will be the guest speaker at the annual WIN for KC Women’s Sports Awards Celebration on Feb. 8.

WIN for KC made the announcement Thursday.

ESPN’s Holly Rowe will be emcee of the event, which will be held at Kansas City Convention Center Grand Ballroom and is billed as “the largest luncheon in the country celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day.”

Williams won Wimbledon titles in 2001, ‘01, ‘05, ‘07 and ‘08, and she was the U.S. Open champion in 2000 and ‘01.

In addition to her success on the court, Williams successfully pushed for Wimbledon to pay the male and female champions the same prize money.
