LSU player is up for college football’s cheap hit of the year
The first full day of college football kind of felt like the NCAA basketball tournament.
Round-the-clock games and big upsets.
One of the biggest came when Wisconsin beat No. 5 LSU 16-14. The Badgers’ D’Cota Dixon intercepted a pass late in the game to sew up the victory and went down to the ground, so the play was dead.
That didn’t stop LSU’s Josh Boutte from doing this:

Just saw the LSU cheap shot. Doesn't get any dirtier. https://t.co/fARmVaE8Bo

It’s possible that Boutte didn’t realize the play was dead, but that seems like a stretch. Certainly he must have wondered why Dixon was joyously running around. Boutte was ejected.
