You can’t win them all, right? Although, the way this month has gone, it kind of seems like the Royals couldn’t lose.

However, they were beaten by the Yankees 5-4 in 10 innings on Tuesday. It the second game this month to be delayed by rain and then go into extra innings. Fortunately, the lights didn’t go out at Kauffman Stadium this time.

But I digress.

If you went to bed before the game ended, let this serve as a recap of the final inning.

The Yankees scored a run in the top of the 10th inning on a ball that was hit back to Royals relief pitcher Joakim Soria. He seemed to stumble on the wet mound and couldn’t field the ball and New York, which had the bases loaded with two outs, took the lead.

The Royals gave their fans some hope in the bottom of the inning, putting runners on the corners with no outs and later loading the bases.
