Royals spent 11th-most money on free agents this offseason
There have been few, if any, complaints about the Royals not spending money this offseason.
The free agents the Royals have signed includes outfielder Alex Rios, pitchers Edinson Volquez and Kris Medlen and DH/first baseman Kendrys Morales.
Business Insider compiled numbers (via MLB Trade Rumors) and found the Royals have spent the 11th-most money on free agents this offseason ($68.3 million):

In fact, ESPN’s David Schoenfield wrote, “No team had a less stimulating offseason than the Royals.”
Schoenfield, who picked the Royals to finish the season 80-82, continued: “Is this any way to follow up your first playoff trip in 29 years? Shame on you, David Glass.”
